Roketsan became a sponsor for TEKNOFEST Istanbul Aviation, Space and Technology festival held by Turkey Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation), aiming to encourage production of national technologies, through September 20-23, 2018. At TEKNOFEST, secondary school, high school, university and post graduate students were able to showcase their successful projects in a wide range of categories, including Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, Model Airplane, Rocket and Artificial Intelligence. During the festival, a Rocket Competition was held at the Hisar Launch Center in Akhisar. The competition which was sponsored by Roketsan, went down in history as as the first successful rocket competition in Turkey, and the second in the world after USA. Turkish Minister of National Defence Hulusi AKAR, Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa VARANK, Turkish Chief of General Staff General Yaşar GÜLER, Commander of Turkish Land Forces General Ümit DÜNDAR, Commander of Turkish Air Forces General Hasan KÜÇÜKAKYÜZ, Governor of İstanbul Vasip ŞAHİN, National Defence University Rector Prof. Dr. Erhan AFYONCU, Turkish Presidency of Defense Industries Vice Presidents Mustafa Murat ŞEKER and Dr. Celal Sami TÜFEKÇİ along with many other senior government officials were hosted in the Roketsan booth through the festival. Organized with the participation of Baykar Makina Chairman of the Board of Directors Özdemir BAYRAKTAR, Baykar Makina General Manager and T3 Foundation Vice Chairman of the Board Haluk BAYRAKTAR and Baykar Makina Technical Manager and T3 Foundation Chairman of the Board of Trustees Selçuk BAYRAKTAR, the festival sparked the interest of visitors. Roketsan Chairman of the Board, Prof. Dr. Faruk YİĞİT, stated that students who qualify in the competitions will be directly recruited by Roketsan. Being aware of the fact that each young talent and indigenous product is a contribution to national development, Roketsan shall continue to support the young and promising innovative generations.
