‘An Experimental and Numerical Study on Exploding Foil Initiators’ titled paper is selected to recieve the ‘Arthur D. Rhea’ award for the Best Paper in the ‘Energetic Components and Systems’ session of the 49th AIAA/ASME/SAE/ASEE Joint Propulsion Conference and Exhibit (JPC). There have been a great number of pioneer and advanced studies in the extent of the research and development proceedings within the Operations and Energetical Systems Group Engineering Directorate in Roketsan. Achieved studies in the R&D field of Roketsan have been introduced in various domestic and foreign conferences and presented to the world. In this regard, within the ‘State of the Art High Voltage Initiator Systems’ studies from Operations and Energetic Systems (OES) Group Engineering Directorate Pyrotechic Systems Design Unit, a paper titled ‘An Experimental and Numerical Study on Exploding Foil Initiators (EFIs)’byYusuf YILMAZ (Engineer, M.Sc.) and Burak KIZILKAYA (Engineer, M.Sc.), Suzan KOÇ (Manager, Warhead and Pyrotechnic Systems Design Department) and Abdullah ULAŞ (Professor, Middle East Techincal University Mechanical Engineering Deparment) is published and presented in the Energetic Components and Systems session of the ‘49thAIAA/ASME/SAE/ASEE Joint Propulsion Conference and Exhibit (JPC)’. Following the evaluation of the Energetic Components and Systems Techinal Comitee, the stated paper has been selected to recieve the Arthur D. Rhea award for the Best Paper in 2013 JPC Energetic Components and Systems technical sessions.
