ROKETSAN, Türkiye’s Global Player in the Space Ecosystem, Takes Its Place at IAC 2026

10 October 2026

Advancing its efforts in line with Türkiye’s vision of independent access to space, ROKETSAN is showcasing its space systems and solutions to the global space community at the 77th International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2026), hosted by Türkiye for the first time.

Continuing its efforts to ensure Türkiye’s independent access to space, ROKETSAN is taking part in the 77th International Astronautical Congress as one of the event’s main sponsors, with a strong presence.

Murat İkinci, CEO of ROKETSAN, expressed his great pleasure at Türkiye hosting IAC 2026, which brings together leading organizations and stakeholders from across the global space sector. He stated that ROKETSAN is working continuously to develop launch platforms capable of carrying Türkiye’s payloads, including satellites, into space.

İkinci also highlighted ROKETSAN’s ongoing efforts to build a strong ecosystem and expand cooperation in space technologies.

“Türkiye will further strengthen its position as a global player in space and expand its international partnerships in the years ahead. At ROKETSAN, we are working with full commitment to fulfill our responsibilities in this journey. Our ŞİMŞEK-1 and ŞİMŞEK-2 platforms will serve as the core systems enabling Türkiye to establish its own capability to reach space and will pave the way for our country’s future in space. With our ŞİMŞEK platforms, Türkiye will gain the capability to launch satellites into space while also being able to support friendly and allied countries in this field.”

İkinci added that ROKETSAN has Türkiye’s largest engineering team dedicated to space technologies and is also one of the country’s leading institutions in terms of technical capabilities and infrastructure.

ROKETSAN Builds Strong Partnerships in Space Technologies

ROKETSAN continues to expand its ecosystem and cooperation network for the development of space technologies. It also contributes to the development of a highly skilled workforce in the field through its center of excellence, inaugurated by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in 2020.

ROKETSAN also works closely with a wide range of stakeholders in the space sector, including public institutions, universities, and defense industry partners.

Its R&D activities across a broad range of areas, including sub-technologies, are carried out in close coordination with defense industry partners and universities.
